What is reddit age? How does it increase/decrease?

So I had an account before it showed my age to be 56 years. Now on this new account, it shows my age to be 17 days. What exactly is the concept of reddit age? Can anyone walk me through it?

How to verify Reddit Age?

Hi all,
How do I verify my age?
I've checked my settings and my birth date is in there (1990) - won't let me change it of course and can't find any other option to allow me to "verify" my age? Must be missing something?
The option for 18+ posts is on, but blanked out so I cant switch it on or off.

What age is old enough for a Reddit account?

Update: he has an email address that I made him when I made his Roblox account, the Microsoft account that he uses for Minecraft (he couldn’t use mine because he habitually would play on online servers with myself and my siblings), and his scratch account. Which is a website that teaches kids to code, make simple games, and is made to be like a game itself. I don’t allow tik tok, Facebook, instagram, etcetra. I do however allow him to have a YouTube account, which I monitor. He posts his animations, and has several of his school friends as followers.
Thanks for the concern and comments, but my Reddit account is one I keep private, and isn’t associated with my identity.
I just saw that my son’s email account had a notification email from Reddit. Scrolled back a ways, and saw he had made himself a Reddit account a few days ago. He is 9 years old. He is just joining groups about video games- but I had never even thought about this place and whether or not it was appropriate. Thoughts?
Top Comment: Not 9. I don’t think a 9 year old is old enough to navigate the porn, negativity, and trolling. There are other outlets to talk about video games

i am new to the reddit i know there some subreddit don't allow low karma account to post but. WHAT IS LOW ACCOUNT AGE MEAN? do i need to wait keep my account age and than post?

Reddit asking me to prove I'm over 18

Anyone came across this? Asking me to verify my birthday and then asks me to upload my ID (guessing driving license or passport) and then there's a option to take a selfie and then they'll use that to guess my age
Would add photos but not allow me to.
